SING Sábme 2025 Workshop

SING (Summer Internship for Indigenous peoples in Genomics) will host a special workshop in Sweden from August 12-16, 2025. This represents an exciting international collaboration focusing on Indigenous approaches to genomics.

The Goal: Combines hands-on, place-based education in Sámi cultural practices with practical training in environmental genomics.

Details:

• Location: Lule Sámi area of Sweden (Sábme/Sápmi territories)
• One-week, all-expenses-paid residential program
• Priority given to Sámi applicants, with limited spots potentially available for Indigenous participants from other regions
• Collaboration between SING Canada and local Sámi reindeer herding communities
• Registration opens in early 2025, closes March 31, 2025
